This policy explains what QuitPorn: Block Adult Content & Custom Sites does with your information. QuitPorn is a free Chrome extension with no accounts, no ads, and no developer-owned servers.

The short version

QuitPorn does not send your data to the developer. There are no developer servers, no analytics, and no tracking.
Everything stays on your device in Chrome’s extension storage — except optional Chrome Sync for some settings.
The developer cannot see what sites you visit, how long you spend on them, or what you block.
Visit times do not sync — they stay on the device where they were recorded.

1. Who operates QuitPorn

QuitPorn is made by Zizou, an independent developer. Privacy questions: azizoufiver@gmail.com

2. Does QuitPorn send data to the developer?

No. QuitPorn never uploads your browsing information, blocklist, or settings. The only network activity related to the extension itself is:

Loading its own built-in files (for example, the bundled block list).
Blocking and redirecting when you visit a blocked site (you are sent to an educational articles page inside the extension).
Pages you open yourself (support links, or X settings when you enable the Twitter Filter).

3. What is stored on your device

Nothing below is transmitted to the developer.

4. What QuitPorn reads but does not store

To block sites and run the time tracker, QuitPorn reads the domain name of your active tab. It does not save full URLs, search queries, passwords, or page content.

When the optional X/Twitter Filter is on, it reads visible content on x.com and twitter.com (warnings, post labels, community names) only to block sensitive material in your browser. That content is not saved or sent anywhere.

5. X (Twitter) Filter

Optional — only runs after you tap Confirm in the extension popup.

Sensitive profiles and communities redirect to the extension’s educational articles page; sensitive posts are replaced with a block notice in the feed.
After you confirm, the extension opens X’s settings and turns off “Display media that may contain sensitive content,” then locks that toggle on X’s page.
No X login details or account data are collected by the developer.

6. How your data is used

Data on your device is used only to run QuitPorn:

Block adult websites (8,000+ built-in domains) and sites you add
Enforce Safe Search on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, and Ecosia
Show “Most Visited Websites” and apply blocklist cooldowns
Run the optional X/Twitter filter

Your data is not used for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

7. Third parties

The developer does not operate any servers and never receives your data — so there is nothing for us to share.

Chrome Sync — if enabled, Google may sync your blocklist and X filter settings. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Support links — PayPal, Ko-fi, and Patreon open only if you click them. QuitPorn does not pass browsing data to them.

8. Permissions

Block network requests

Block adult sites and your custom list; enforce Safe Search on search engines.

Storage

Save settings and visit times on your device.

Tabs

Read the active tab’s domain for time tracking, “Block Current Page,” and redirects.

Web navigation

Catch cases where browser caching would otherwise bypass blocking.

Alarms

Save visit times about once per minute so data is not lost.

Access to all websites

Required to block any domain and read the active tab’s domain. Page content is not read except on X/Twitter when the filter is enabled.

QuitPorn does not download or run code from the internet. Its rules and scripts are bundled inside the extension.

9. Deleting your data

Visit times: reset button next to “Most Visited Websites” in the popup.
Blocked sites: remove them in the popup (cooldown rules may apply).
Everything: uninstall QuitPorn or clear its data at chrome://extensions.
Incognito: separate storage if you enable “Allow in incognito” in Chrome extension settings.

Synced data may remain in your Google account until you clear Chrome Sync settings.

10. Children

QuitPorn is not directed at children under 13. A parent or guardian may install it on a shared device to block adult content.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated when the extension changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.

12. Chrome Web Store — Limited Use

QuitPorn complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements:

Data is used only for QuitPorn’s disclosed features (blocking, Safe Search, visit tracker, optional X filter).
Data is not sold, used for personalized advertising, or transferred for data brokerage.
Data is not used for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
The developer does not receive user data on any server.
